Friday, 5th September, Santiago,

I spent the day walking around Santiago. The center covers a smallist area so I went around walking mainly although I now have my second contactless travel card of the trip (wonder what I will do with this afterwards....).
The main center is a place with tidy streets, 4-5 story-buildings and quite nice and clean. First I went to the palacio de la moneda and surroundings, the presidential building, which was bombed by Pinochet in its millitar coup when Salvador Allende would not quit the building (of course now reconstructed). Plaza de Armas the main square with some pedestrian streets around it.

And mercado central with lines and lines of stalls selling fresh fish (and enormous sea food...) and a little court with restaurants in the middle.
