While being really happy with having managed to cross to Santiago I had a bit of a stress point when I got there as with the rush to get to the bis I had not had time to book a hotel. So I got there quite late, to the busy and caotic Santiago bus terminal and had to try to juggle phone, wifi devoce and guide trying to figure out how to foind a place... phoning did not work as I didnt manage to get the right number of digits (I guess thia as my blackberry did not connnect me to anything). And as it always happens when you really need it there was no free wifi to be found! I though I saw the light when I saw the neons of a hotel, but when I went in to ask it was fully booked!! Amazing! Hotel in the.middle of nowhere in low season! Anyway, as I must have had a bit of a crestfallen face, the hotel guy actually gave me a place to sit and a wifi password and I could book a hotel there and then while he gave me a spoken tour of all the hotels of the area, which he seemed to knw by heart!! He also acompanied me to change money, and send me to th metro with a detailed explanation on precisely what to do and where to go...
So in the end I was well happy when I got to my little hotel in the center. I went to my room and collapsed from exaustion and that was it for Thursday!!!
